Brian’s experience owning and operating a successful business makes him a valuable resource for our clients because of his first-hand experience as an employer dealing with business contracts and agreements, recruiting and managing employees, as well as administering personnel policies and benefits programs.
Brian is focused on advising public and private employers on a variety of labor and employment legal issues. He assists employers with issues such as discrimination and harassment, discipline and discharge, wage disputes, medical leaves and reasonable accommodation, workplace safety, union avoidance, labor negotiations, contract interpretation, grievance arbitration, unfair labor practice claims, and other labor and employment matters. Brian has counseled public school districts on issues such as discipline, public records/open meetings, school board policies, and other general school matters.
Brian has successfully represented employers in various labor and employment disputes before state and federal agencies, including the Wisconsin Equal Rights Division, the Wisconsin Labor Standards Bureau, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the U.S. Department of Labor, and the National Labor Relations Board.
He has drafted workplace policies, employee handbooks, employment agreements, non-compete and non-disclosure agreements, severance agreements and settlement agreements. He has also led investigations into workplace conduct and has conducted workforce training for clients on various employment topics.

Q: Do you have children? Tell us about them.
A: I have two spirited daughters, Anna and Claire, who are a continuous source of joy as I watch them grow into the strong, smart, kind young people they are becoming.
Q: What is your favorite vacation destination?
A: Florida during the winter, and Colorado and other parts of the western U.S. during the summer.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Definitely the time I spend interacting with clients. I enjoy working with people to address their employment issues, taking into account both the legal matters involved, as well as the business considerations present in a given situation.
Q: Name one of your athletic accomplishments.
A: Climbing several of Colorado’s 14 thousand-foot peaks, with the goal of climbing more each year.
