Mary represented school districts on the unique issues that schools, school boards, and school administrators face including the issues of educating students with disabilities, student discipline and expulsion, student rights and responsibilities, student nondiscrimination and bullying, pupil records, in addition to advising school districts on open meetings and public records issues. Mary defended both school districts and municipalities in hearings, grievance proceedings, WERC proceedings and before state and federal agencies.
Mary advised public and private sector employers on issues as diverse as labor negotiations, contract interpretation, grievance proceedings, compliance with state and federal employment discrimination laws, wage and hour laws, employee discipline and discharge, and personnel records.
