Up Close & Personal

Q: What is your favorite thing about living in Wisconsin?

A: Where do I begin? I lived in Florida for four years while my husband was serving as a U.S. Navy Officer in Jacksonville, and I missed Wisconsin terribly! I love Wisconsin for the down-to-earth people, the weather, and the beauty of the landscape. Most of all, however, I love the great food-culture and the four exciting seasons that Wisconsin has to offer!

Q: If I left the practice of law today, I would become…

A: The owner and operator of an apple orchard somewhere in the beautiful Wisconsin countryside. In addition to offering hay rides, a corn maze, and a pumpkin patch, I would sell apple pies baked according to my Great Grandma Sally's delicious secret recipe!

Q: Do you have a pet?

A: I have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who answers to "Archie." His full name, however, is "Archibald Henderson II." He was named after the "Grand old man of the Marine Corps," which was my husband's idea. Archie is so popular and loved among our friends and family that he even has his own Facebook page. He would love it if you would send him a friend request!

Q: Do you have children? Tell us about them.

A: Yes, my husband and I have been blessed with two beautiful children, George Stanley and Janie Lucille.

Q: What is your favorite TV show and why?

A: My favorite TV show is The Mary Tyler Moore Show because I relate to the characters and laugh during every episode. Mary was a terrific role model for independent career women everywhere. Plus, she was able to accomplish the perfect "flip" hairdo, which I can say from personal experience, is nearly impossible to replicate!

Q: Name one of your athletic accomplishments.

A: I threw the shot put and the discus for my high school track & field team, and I took 7th place at the state championship during my junior year. Also, when I was a kid, I won the title of "Punt, Pass, and Kick Champion."

Q: Who is your favorite artist and why?

A: My favorite artist is Tom Everhart, to whom Charles Schulz gave permission to use the Peanuts characters in his artwork. Tom Everhart's paintings are gorgeous, and I love his unique interpretations of Snoopy, who is my favorite cartoon character of all time!

Q: What is your most embarrassing moment as a lawyer?

A: I kept a spare suit in an office closet in the event that I had to make an emergency court appearance. One day, I really needed the suit for court. When I opened the closet to get my suit, I discovered that someone else in the office was storing fertilizer in the closet! Unfortunately, I did not have time to get a different suit, so I had to go to court smelling as ripe as a farm field on a hot day!

Q: What music would we find on your playlist?

A: You can always find Frank Sinatra in my playlist. I am confident that there is a Frank Sinatra song to suit my every mood. My favorites are "My Way," "Send in the Clowns," and "New York, New York." My husband and I, while on a blind date, shared our first dance to "The Way You Look Tonight!"

Q: What is your favorite cuisine or meal?

A: As a born and raised Wisconsin girl, a perfectly cooked Johnsonville brat is heaven on a bun.
